Design systems your brand can build on

A personal journey from user to contributor led to reimagining Neptune's lawyer recommendation interface. By prioritizing user feedback and focusing on information architecture, we created a more transparent and efficient experience for couples seeking prenup services.

As a Design Systems Designer at Robinhood, I led initiatives to streamline design processes and improve collaboration across teams. By developing standardized patterns, components, and documentation, we reduced design debt while increasing efficiency and consistency across the organization.

BNY Mellon's Data and Analytics division transformed their internal investment tools into a self-service platform, enabling clients to directly manage and analyze their data stored in BNY Mellon. This shift from developer-dependent tools to a client-facing platform fundamentally changed how BNY Mellon's clients interacted with their stored data and were provided better tooling to manage risk and analyze investments from an ESG perspective. As a full-time product designer, I led the creation of a few of these tools, as well as the design/strategy of the design system that decreased development implementation time by 40% and increased design iteration speed by 70%.

Reel Clever is a full-production film studio from Detroit that wanted to stand out from the crowd and bring their digital home to the next level. Although they primarily work with non-profits and organizations that provide incredible services for the public, they wanted to branch out to larger audiences. I fully redesigned and implemented their new site in Webflow, leveraging Relume and custom code for animations and unique interactions. The Honeycomb (HC) design system is facing adoption challenges across multiple teams at the company. From talkback sessions with engineering and design teams, we identified 20 major pain points, each distilled into five words or fewer to provide a clear picture of the barriers preventing successful implementation. This case study walks through some of the pain points including preparing for a brand refresh by remapping multiple color and typography systems to one unified set of design tokens, acquiring resources with roadshow presentations to leadership, pattern templates documentation and education, and moral boosting with merch and recognition.

Despite 65% of users relying on filters to find their workout for the day, this critical feature was buried in the interface, requiring repetitive steps with each session. Through analysis of filter usage data, we discovered that "Duration" and "Class Type" filters accounted for over half of all interactions. Through experimentation, bringing these filters into the main navigation showed promising results in testing, demonstrating significant improvements in class discovery speed. While awaiting backend infrastructure updates for full implementation, this project showcased how strategic design system improvements could directly enhance the member experience.

Forms represent a critical touchpoint in any financial application. At Robinhood, where users need to input sensitive information for account creation, funding, and trading, the form experience directly impacts user trust and completion rates. When I joined the design systems team, I identified an opportunity to streamline form design and creation while adding accessibility-driven best practices into the form pattern.

At BNY Mellon, I helped redesign a previously developer-driven ecosystem of tools into a friendly GUI that changed how clients worked with their investment data. I built interfaces that let data vendors directly manage their information instead of going through developers, designed a marketplace where data brokers could sell to independent advisors, and rethought how data brokers cleaned and organized their information before clients used it in their analysis. I also created a risk analysis tool that looked across multiple data sources to help spot potential investment risks. Clients loved having access to these tools directly - doing in minutes what used to take days from back and forth communication. Managing to design all these different features while also building out our department's design system from scratch, advising a team of up to 5 designers on the system, and teaching best practices was a challenge but was a great learning experience!

What started as a simple five-day design challenge from Bitesize UX turned into something more ambitious. The original task - creating a home accessory starter-kit builder - sparked questions about how e-commerce might better serve its customers. This exploration dug deeper into the problems of online home shopping, examining how we might help customers navigate choice overload, stick to their budgets, and make confident design decisions.
