At BNY Mellon, I helped redesign a previously developer-driven ecosystem of tools into a friendly GUI that changed how clients worked with their investment data. I built interfaces that let data vendors directly manage their information instead of going through developers, designed a marketplace where data brokers could sell to independent advisors, and rethought how data brokers cleaned and organized their information before clients used it in their analysis. I also created a risk analysis tool that looked across multiple data sources to help spot potential investment risks. Clients loved having access to these tools directly - doing in minutes what used to take days from back and forth communication. Managing to design all these different features while also building out our department's design system from scratch, advising a team of up to 5 designers on the system, and teaching best practices was a challenge but was a great learning experience!
